An Optimized Operation of Hybrid Wind/Battery/PV-System based Micro grid by using Particle Swarm Optimization Technique
Abstract
This paper presents an optimized operation of hybrid wind/battery/photovoltaic (PV) based micro-grid system by
using particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique. The objective of this work is to introduce dynamic energy
pricing (DEP) model into the considered micro grid to optimize the energy operation. The proposed DEP model
enhances the peak cutting and total electricity cost minimization. Energy profile of the input sources (i.e., wind and
PV system) of the considered micro grid, load and the price of the energy consumed from the grid per day are the
inputs of the DEP model in this work. The wind and PV-sources always energies the micro grid whereas during the
peak hours’ battery supplies the energy to the micro grid and in the normal base condition hours the fuel cell gets
charged from grid. For the considered system particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique has been adapted to
achieve the optimized operation.
