Personality Traits of Faculty Members in Universities of Andhrapradesh
Abstract
Personality is a combination of internal as well as external traits learned over a period of time. It grows uninterruptedly and can be developed over a period of time. In this paper, we describe a quantitative study of personality aspects and their relationship with demographic. In our study of 680 participants, their personality traits were employable by using Neo Five Factor Inventory (Neo FFI) that maps personality on different dimensions. We show that there are selective correlations of slight and intermediate strength between the variables of personality dimensions with the demographics of the faculty members. There is a clatter of personalities many a times. Personality absolutely affects us one way or the other. This proves the need for understanding of personality .Understanding personality helps the faculty members in enhanced processing of student related problems in the classroom. The faculty members are the role models for the students. The personality of the faculty members adds to the overall classroom effectiveness. The present paper aims at understanding the personality of faculty members working in the Universities in Andhra Pradesh.
