Abstract

In recent years, several serious power system blackouts resulted from cascading failures have occurred in the worldwide. So it is very important to forecast the subsequent failures effectively and prevent them. On the basis of analyzing the evolution rule of the cascading failures, a method which can forecast the subsequent failures is proposed. This method can improve accuracy and speed of the prediction. Finally, the Powerworld software is used to demonstrate the method, and the results prove out the feasibility and validity of the method.
