Dynamic optimization of EID-RLOC mapping assignment in LISP-capable network
Abstract
Locator/Identifier Separation Protocol (LISP) is proposed to address the routing scalability problem of current Internet, and a mapping system is required to support the LISP EID-to-RLOC mapping assignment (ERMA). This paper suggest that in order to optimize the network resource utilization in stub domains, ERMA could be tuned to control the ingress points of inbound traffic. In this paper, dynamic optimization of ERMA problem based on delay information of probe packets is studied. Simulation results show that dynamic optimization of ERMA can achieve better network performance, e.g., lower packet delay and maximum link utilization.
