Optimal energy-efficient spectrum sensing and power allocation for multiband cognitive radio network
Abstract
This paper investigates the energy-efficient spectrum sensing and power allocation for a multiband cognitive radio network (CRN). This problem is formulated as an optimization process, where the sensing time and the transmitting power are optimized to maximize the energy efficiency of CRN. In the same time, the average interference power to the primary network, the total transmitting power and the target detection probabilities on each channel are considered in the optimization process. In this paper, this optimization process is analyzed and an optimal solution is obtained by using a fractional programming algorithm, which can maximize the energy efficiency for the multiband CRN. The numerical computation results show that an improvement in the energy efficiency of the CRN is achieved through the joint optimization.
