Analyzed and improved transaction model based on massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) with π calculus formalization method
Abstract
Presently, a massive number of game makers and Internet service providers (ISP) apply certain transaction models to trade their virtual goods. Nevertheless, the risks of security issues such as accounts losses, virtual products frauds, etc make the transactions in online games increased. This paper focuses on the item of selling and exchange payment model in the Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG). Initially, the paper discusses two transaction models: the subscription payment model and the item selling and exchanging payment model. Then we investigate the online payment schemes and characterize them in item selling and exchange payment model using Stackelberg Equilibrium. In the next step, this paper nds ways to improve the transaction model with the π calculus formalization method to legalize the trade behaviors in MMORPG and work out the answers to these questions: how to legalize obtained items behavior by game-money and items purchased by real money, how to legalize the trade and protect user rights in the games, especially protect the game gears and virtual weapons. In the end, the paper compares the improved model with the current model by Roc curves and analyze the data in the gure, which shows that both of transection risks and costs are lowered in a certain level.
