Efficient alternative form of syndrome-trellis codes for large relative payloads
Abstract
As the state-of-the-art matrix embedding scheme, syndrome-trellis codes (STCs) has been widely used in the field of information hiding. In this paper, an alternative form of STCs based on Shannon product trellises of linear convolutional codes is proposed. It is implemented with a fast method for determining the particular coset sequence and the Shannon product of component block codes. Experimental results show that the proposed trellis-coded quantitative method can achieve observably better performance for large relative payloads (larger than 1/2) and lossless performance for other cases when compared with STCs.
