Studies on Compressive Strength of Nickel Nanoparticle Fillers in Polymer Based Nanocomposites
Abstract
This work describes the comparative study of compressive strength of Nickel Nanoparticles (<50nm) reinforced in Polymers. The resins used are Epoxy and Polyester. The Nickel Nanoparticles are reinforced in both resins and casted economically with a plastic mould. The cured composites are removed and tested using Universal Testing Machine and results are studied and compared. The results show that the nickel Nanoparticles affect the compressive strength of the resin and provides considerable amount of strength. The compressive strength is increased for epoxy based composites compared to polyester based composites
