A Framework for Intrusion Detection and Prevention in Cloud Computing Network
Abstract
Cloud Computing is referred to as user-centric which provides leasing services to the end users. A framework to support end users for most powerful services is provided by the cloud computing along with its applications over the internet. Secured and reliable service can be provided in the environment of cloud computing which is one of the important issues. There are many security issues, one of the issues is how the impact of attack such as Distributed DoS (DDoS) or Denial-of Service (DoS) attack can be reduced in such environments. When considering such kind of attacks, the cooperative Intrusion Detection System (IDS) framework is designed which is the proposed system in this work. Also, since the development of information technology, a new direction emerges for cloud computing, called as grid computing. Thus, security needs to be guaranteed to the end users before the cloud computing is applied. An Intrusion Prevention System, based on the virtualization in cloud computing environment is also proposed to monitor the flow of network, integrity of file, and its protection. This work proposes both the intrusion detection of various attacks and prevention system in a cloud computing environment. Because of the dynamic nature of virtual machine, the detection process differs with its state.
