A novel optimal mathematical model on snowboard course shape design
Abstract
An appropriate snowboard course shape (currently known as half-pipe) is not only good for gaining higher scores in competitions but also the safety guarantee for recreational players. In this paper, an optimal mathematical model for designing half-pipe shape is developed to help players get maximum vertical height and maximum wrist in the air. Physical static and dynamic equations are used for quantitative calculation, followed that variable sensitive analysis is also introduced to determine the key factor in shape designing. Different shapes are designed and graphed for both master players and beginners as well. The model is validated graphically and quantitatively, bringing a bright future for its application.
