A practical predictive control algorithm for embedded system and its application
Abstract
This paper presents a practical predictive control algorithm for the heating furnaces. Through establishing heating furnace model, online computing model parameters and the softness factor, this algorithm achieves no overshoot control. Based on industry experience and under the premise of ensuring ultimate control effect, this algorithm optimizes properly for the calculation process, avoids the matrix operation, and reduces the double counting steps so that the program code is much simpler and operational speed is faster, which can be implemented in embedded system. The experimental results show that the temperature controller which adopts this predictive control algorithm is better than the PID controller for its excellent setting value tracking performance and no obvious overshoot.
