Abstract

Software defect prediction has emerged as a promising field since 1990s due to its broad application in the software industry. It has permitted the project managers to anticipate the probable defects in the future and hence, give sufficient attention to such project components. Our work performs a review study of the practice of the soft computing methods in software defect prediction. A total of 50 research articles were selected through a set of guidelines and these are classified into six groups according to the type of soft computing technique applied.
