Abstract

Based on the locality feature of B-spline curve, this paper proposes an effective simplification algorithm for point cloud data. Combining with the existing feature extraction algorithm, this algorithm has a good simplification effect on the complex models and large-scale point cloud data models, and can remain the detail features of physical models. Experimental results demonstrate that the method is simple and validated. Finally, in this paper, we implement the reconstruction of triangular mesh surfaces for the simplified models.
