A Study on the Analysis of Solvency and Profitability Position of Select Pharma Companies in India
Abstract
The pharmaceuticals manufacturing is one of the core industries in India and is optimistic of posting good sates in the coming few years. The total revenue generated by pharmaceutical companies in India in the last financial year was more than $20 billion, which is expected to cross the mark of $26 billion by 2017. The Pharmaceutical industry is the third largest in terms of volume in India. Pharmaceutical industries have been topmost players in the health care segment in an epoch of aging populations, rising health care costs, and the ongoing development of new and extremely profitable medicines. Therefore, the investment in shares and securities of pharmaceutical companies seems to be cost-effective. An investment is an asset or item that is purchased with the hope that it will generate income or will appreciate in the future. Choosing the right investment option depends upon the risk and return characteristics of the securities.
