Abstract

Base on the model presented by Aubert and Aujol (AA model), an improved variational model is developed. In order to overcoming the weakness that edge information and important details are oversmoothed while de-noising, an edge detecting function is introduced to the regularization term of the AA model, which makes the new model preserve the edges better. The numerical results show improvements in the signal to noise ratio, the edge preserve index and on the visual effect.
