Assessment of the Population, Poverty, Labor Force and Socio-Economic Situation in the Vellore District
Abstract
One of the busiest districts in the Tamil Nadu state is Vellore. In 2011, it was estimated that 3 percent or more of the district's population was living in poverty. The district needs to give families more opportunities for skill development and better education. Negative socioeconomic effects could result from rapid population expansion. Population growth has finally stopped accelerating at an unheard-of rate under the Post-Malthusian Framework. Some contend that a rise in affluence throughout the industrialization process is what led to the population decline. The need for human resources increased at the same time that technology advanced. The knowledge, skill sets, and experience that employees have in a particular economy are known as human resources.
Governments have a crucial role in improving the education and skill levels of the populace. To increase human capital, investments in education can be made as opposed to more tangible assets like machines. The total cost of a household's consumption of various items, such as food, pan (betel leaves), tobacco, alcohol, fuel & light, clothing, and footwear is known as household consumption expenditures. In studies of income distribution, household income is used as a proxy for household satisfaction. In this background, this research paper is mainly concentrate on Population, Poverty, Labour Force, and Socio-Economic Situation in the Vellore District of Tamil Nadu in analytical perspectives. Therefore, this research paper is timely and socially relevant one and need of the hour in order to assess the socio-economic and demographic features of people living in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu.
