BlueCard-green communications for exchanging information of mobile users
Abstract
Traditional paper card may cause carbon emissions and has restricts on usage flexibility. To this end, a novel information exchanging method based on Bluetooth is designed. By coding information into the names of Bluetooth devices, the personal information can be exchanged and spread automatically, without building connections previously which is fast and convenient. Users can collect and record the interested people's information in an easy way. Moreover, to save the limited energy of mobile devices, an energy efficient scanning algorithm is designed. Experimental results show that in the static environment a couple of people's information can be obtained simultaneously within 15 seconds. In the mobile environment, most of people's information can be obtained within 30 minutes, which validates the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method comparing with that of traditional paper cards.
