Build a secure and scalable vehicular communication infrastructure system in IoT environment
Secure road side infrastructures play an important role in vehicular communication of IoT environment, but few related efforts have been made. Lacking trusted certification, scalability, efficiency in vehicle-only network causes various attacks. In this paper we build a secure and scalable infrastructure system, in which distributed CA, log infrastructures and road side infrastructures are deployed autonomously, certification and logging improve the system security. To build autonomous networks, gateways are preselected, other nodes gather afterwards, new gateway are generated automatically when network scale increases. Road side infrastructures in the same network scope share vehicles' certificates using a cache and forward mechanism. In our analysis, the approach has a better efficiency, scalability and security guarantee than native design. The simulations demonstrate that the certificate cache and forward optimization save considerable transmission overhead.
