Abstract

This paper presents a multiple-tree overlay structure for resource discovery in unstructured P2P systems. It group peers holding similar type of resources into a tree-like cluster, and forwarding of queries is along the tree, which can reduce the traffic overhead caused by pure flooding by forwarding messages. By dynamically adapting the tree structure, this multiple-tree overlay structure can serve as an application-specific overlay network to meet different needs of applications.
