Efficient tree aggregation for service delivery in mobile Ad hoc networks
Abstract
We present an efficient tree aggregation technique, for service delivery in mobile ad hoc networks. The existing hierarchical service provisioning schemes, have one core node for each of the multicast groups, within a zone in a geographical area, and a separate delivery tree is constructed for every multicast group. In our proposed scheme, we have one common core node per zone, that is changed adaptively and hence, we aggregate the delivery trees from the same source to different multicast groups. We aggregate both the inter zone and intra zone delivery trees. Since the state and control overhead depends mainly on the number of trees, the tree aggregation technique can achieve major savings. Our simulation results shows that the aggregation scheme used by us effectively reduces the distance, the number of delivery trees constructed and the number of forwarding nodes.
