Frequency domain iterative block decision feedback equalization for single-carrier MIMO systems
Abstract
In recent years, single carrier (SC) communication combined with frequency domain equalization (FDE) has been receiving much attention for its advantage of suppressing inter-symbol interference (ISI) and improving the spectral efficiency. In this paper, we introduce an iterative block decision feedback equalization (IB-DFE) algorithm for single carrier multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. We use the Mean Square Error (MSE) criterion and Lagrange optimization method to design the filters coefficients of iterative equalizer in each iteration for the given channel frequency response. The coefficients of the feed-forward and feedback filters are both in the frequency domain, so the complexity of our method is lower than traditional nonlinear frequency domain equalization algorithms. The simulation results show that our scheme can achieve better performance than the conventional linear equalization (LE) methods and hybrid noise prediction (NP) structure equalization schemes.
