Integrating Deep Web based on domain ontology
Abstract
Generally the largest Web data resources are hidden on the backend diversified databases and can just be accessed through form-based query interfaces, so it is required to integrate the query interfaces of Deep Web and provide a unified query interface in order to facilitate users' query. In this paper, a domain ontology-based approach is presented to integrate Deep Web. Firstly, the core domain ontology is constructed by analyzing a set of domain-related schema of query interfaces. Then an automatic expansion algorithm is proposed to enrich the domain ontology. Based on the expanded domain ontology, an effective query interface integration algorithm with trimming strategy is proposed. Our approach can easily determine the semantic relationships of attributes among different interfaces and the experimental results show that the proposed approach is highly accurate and effective.
