Modelling and Simulation of Jig Boring Machining Process Parameters Using Grey Fuzzy Optimization and Sensitivity Analysis
Abstract
Selection of geometrical and machining parameters has great influence in machining performance. Predictive modeling can be used in optimization and control of process parameters. This study focuses on the optimization and sensitivity analysis of machining parameters, and fine-tuning requirements to obtain better machining performance. The experiments were conducted on AISI 1040 grade steel material as a work piece and tungsten carbide as a tool. The vertical reaction force and surface roughness has been measured with vertical force measurement and RJ200 surface roughness device. On the basis of the grey relational analysis, grey relational coefficient is calculated and then applied Fuzzy logic simulation for optimization. A Sensitivity analysis has been done using developed equations to identify the parameter that have the greatest effect on the response parameters. It is shown that the multiple response performance characteristics are greatly improved through this study.
