Resource Provision for Software as a Service (SaaS) in Cloud Computing Platform
Abstract
Cloud platform has been considered as a solution for distributed Information Technology infrastructure, configuration and deployment challenges in the traditional Information Technology agility model. Migrating from traditional platforms to Cloud enables on-going revenue for software solution providers. However, in order to offer the hosted services to clients, SaaS providers must have either maintain their own hardware or lease it from infrastructure providers. This requirement means that SaaS providers will incur extra costs. In order to optimize the cost of resources, it is also important to satisfy a minimum service level to customers. Therefore, this paper proposes resource allocation algorithms for SaaS providers who want to minimize infrastructure cost and contract violations. Our proposed algorithms are designed to ensure that SaaS providers are able to manage the dynamic load variations from consumers, transform the dynamic changes to infrastructure level and handling heterogeneous Virtual hosts. Quality of Service parameters such as response time, and infrastructure level parameters such as service triggering time. This paper focused to design and analyze that the proposed algorithms optimizes the SaaS provider‘s resource utilization and the number of agreement violations in a heterogeneous dynamic sharing Cloud resources.
