Semantic preserving storage approach of fuzzy ontology
Abstract
With the increasing creation of fuzzy ontology on the Semantic Web and other application domains, how to effectively store and manage fuzzy ontology is becoming a more pertinent issue. In this paper, we make use of the advantage of fuzzy relational database as an efficient solution to store fuzzy ontology. We present a set of storage rules according to the characteristics of structure and instances of fuzzy ontology, respectively. Considering our proposed fuzzy ontology storage approach can be seen as a schema transformation, we evaluate the correctness of the fuzzy ontology storage procedure based on the relative information capacities. We show that the fuzzy ontology storage procedure is semantic preserving transformation.
