Sliding mode control for offshore jacket platforms with external disturbances and nonlinear self-excited wave force
Abstract
In this paper, the control problem for an offshore steel jacket platform subject to external disturbances and nonlinear self-excited wave force is concerned by using sliding mode control methods. A sliding mode controller with robust terms is proposed to reduce the oscillation amplitudes of the offshore platform. The robust terms are used to handle the system uncertainties. Throughout the simulation results we can find that the control approach this paper proposed is valid for offshore platform.
