Study and implement of dynamic routing based on QoS in Enterprise Service Bus
Abstract
Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is the core department of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The message routing among services is a very important mechanism for service communication in ESB. It is important for routing destination to be determined based on runtime evaluation of QoS, especially when there may be over one service candidates corresponding with the criterion of the service request. However, current ESB software can only support fixed routing path by static configuration files and/or hard-coded rules, so this paper presents a new framework supporting dynamic routing based on QoS. In this framework the original route mechanism in ESB is replaced by a Route Processor containing service test and evaluation mechanism based on QoS, and the new best service provider calculated by service evaluation module can be used to update the route table so that the aim of dynamic routing based on QoS can be achieved.
