Abstract

WSN is an emerging area in which number of nodes are deployed toperform data gathering tasks. This involves wide variety of applications such as smart building, target tracking, intrusion detection, and industrial automation and so on. In this survey, different types of WSN, MAC layer related sensor network properties are discussed. Finally, MAC layer design with regard to research issuesare pointed.
