User concerns on information system usage comparing with technology acceptance model and is success model
Abstract
Organizations are always facing a complex and competitive global business environment, and more competitive pressures that are driving them to use Information System (IS) or information technology (IT) to maintain their competitive advantage. IS usage and IS success have been concerned by organizations and scholars, especially in MIS domain research. However, most of them were quantitative research. Therefore, the objectives of this paper try to explore user concerns when using systems, and to compare TAM stemming from quantitative research with IQA interview approach that is designed from a qualitative research method. Three differences between TAM and IQA interview SID were found. One was that TAM puts emphasis on individual system usage, and another was that TAM had no feedback loop; yet one feedback loops was found in this study. The other, user habit played an important role in usage intention but TAM did not emphasize its importance. At the same tome, three differences between IS Success Model and IQA interview SID were also found. The first difference between IS Success Model and IQA interview SID was that System Function as the primary driver of IQA interview SID in our study. Furthermore, the affinities about system and user's thought were interacted in IQA interview SID. Lastly, it did not take user habit in account in IS Success Model but IQA interview SID did.
